In a Nutshell: Ice, Ice, Baby

vanilla, ice, ice baby.

stop, collaborate and listen.

ice is back with a brand new edition.

something grabs a hold of me tightly...

Okay now that I have you singing that lovely 90's rap song. Hehehe.

So this week we were not immune to the same artic cold weather that the majority of the nation had. I will say, we did NOT have it rough. We got hardly any snow and only had two snow days unlike our friends in Texas. So why a Snow Day if we had no snow...

Well we did get freezing rain. It covered everything in a sparkley, glistening, slippery surface. So what do you do when this ice covers everything, school is out, it is too slippery to play outside?

What do you do when this is the main attraction in the movie called "Your Week at Home with Stir-Crazy Boys"?

You introduce your Little Actors to this supporting character...

Yup, when it is gross outside and you need 10 minutes of silence from the screeching, running, yelling, wrestling, you feed them.

Homemade popcorn is the absolute BEST.

If you have never heard of a Whirlypop, well go HERE  (just one of many links, you can google it too) and then hook yourself up with this wonderful popcorn popper. Your kids may never want microwave popcorn again.

So easy, pour just a tiny bit of oil in the bottom, dump 1/3-1/2 cups corn kernels in. Then over medium high heat, just turn the handle and stand there anticipating the lovely "pop...pop...POPPOPPOPPOPPOPPOP that is soon to follow.

So here is recap our week:

cold
ice
more ice
no school
more no school
screaming
wrestling
running
hair pulling (me not them)
popcorn

silence...

well at least until they needed a refill on their bowls.

ALSO if you haven't voted yet because you keep losing the sticky not reminding you to do so...or you still forgot what the string tied around your finger was for...

YOU CAN STILL VOTE until tonight.

SO go here

vote for your top 3

Congrats on making it to round 2! I knew you would!

We have a whirly pop and the kids love it... too bad I didn't think to bring it out on our snow days... my boys put an entire package of popcorn in the fireplace! Flaming popcorn is baaaad.
